you learn how to weep dinosaurs
summon the delirious
collarbone of your nightmares
said the ones who refuse to
walk away from earth spider
my reflection in the darkness
spoke my
name as the inside
out belly of a slain beast; now
the half-digested wolves and boars are
merely animals and
no longer gods in hiding
what isn't you in you shivers
as you witness
their eyes widen into bloodless moons
from this root of roots
i shall give you a name which cannot
be spoken; a name in name only
said the ones who broke
the turning of the world off
my fingers
from this root of roots
i shall be weak
a language whose words fall
off precipices of their own making
summon the courage to be nothing
your dreams and efforts
dying in grotesque daylight
said my name
for you are alive and
by the time you remember what you
came here for; your voice is already
drowned in the polyrhythms of
nameless beings of the laurel forest
growing out of the wealth of the dead
itself a remembrance
escaping
from your ribcage no longer your ribcage
itself a many-legged
revival of the gods who
have become gods once again
your becoming animal is an exegesis
of exiled bodies; flitting into quicksand
they reappear before your flesh
has had a chance to regurgitate memories and
blood
so you are new and ancient once again; awake and asleep at once
you are a secret
stowed away in your life which
is no longer your life
